Knowledgeable Training Expertise

For more than 17 years, I have provided  personal training services to residents of the North Shore and  Downtown Chicago areas.

I work with clients of all ages, in the water or on land; and hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education, emphasizing Cardiac Rehabilitation and Fitness Leadership from Northern Illinois University.  In addition, I am a certified personal through both National Academy of Sports Medicine and American Council on Exercise. Other certifications and affiliations include: Cycle Reebok, Schwinn Indoor Cycling, Precision Cycling, Reebok Strength, BogaFit, AEA instructor, ShockWave, TRX, Medic CPR/AED/First Aid certified (instructor in training), and a member of American College of Sports Medicine.

Studies show that people looking to improve their fitness and health achieve significantly greater results when using a personal trainer. An effective personal trainer can guide you, motivate you, and educate you. trainers provide accountability and discipline. A good training will also make sure you don't damage your body when exercising. It is important to note there is a right way and a wrong way to exercise. Don't risk harming your body! 

Fitness Assessment

Fitness assessment is an important part of any responsible training program, it objectively measures your current level of physical fitness. Without an effective fitness assessment, growth cannot be accurately measured. The assessment measures:

  • Body Fat
  • BMI
  • Functional Movement
  • Physical Endurance
  • Circumferences

Personal Training and Group Fitness Sessions

  • You will develop strength and increase endurance
  • Workouts are fun and not repetitive
  • Exercise sessions are custom designed based on your desired goals
  • Strength, Interval, TRX, Flexibility, Cycling, Boot Camp style classes  

Tracking Results

An important part of the process is tracking results. To maximize your progress, we need to continually monitor and adjust your program. This cannot be done effectively without proper monitoring and ongoing assessment. I continually tailor your program so you are receiving what you need to achieve your goals.

Nutritional Needs

I will guide you through hurdles along the way and assist you with making healthy choices. Sessions with a nutritionist are available.

I've been in Beth's Boot Camp at MGPD for all of 3 months now. Beth makes exercise challenging and fun. There is always a new exercise to keep us on our toes. Beth is an incredibly attentive and engaging trainer - making the most out of every session in a tailored and creative way. She knows what my fitness goals are and makes sure that in each session - and through encouragement of activities on my own in between - I am making progress. She always starts the sessions wanting to know how my body is feeling after the last session - willing to modify or tailor activities as needed. If I have a pain or stiffness she is so good and has such a deep understanding of the physiology of movement she will immediately tailor the hour to work with or around a given muscle group to provide lasting relief. A few years ago I had  shoulder pain attributable to a little arthritis - my doctor told me to build  up muscles around that joint. Beth was able to tailor our routines and after a few months it went away and i have never felt the pain again. Also, I started doing Yoga about a year ago - Beth's workouts are a perfect complement to the core work necessary for asanas I work on.  She is willing to adapt her approach to work with my lifestyle - allowing me to be strong in both my workouts and yoga practice. She is always prompt and has been incredibly flexible with my hectic travel schedule. I'll never forget traveling to Beijing and needing to figure out how to make the most out of the hotel exercise equipment and a limited amount of time I had - sent her an email describing the equipment and she came back quickly with a well thought out, efficient routine tailored to my body.
